SAN DIEGO, CA, June 27, 2023 – The San Diego Business Journal and the San Diego Equality Business Association recently announced the Top LGBTQ Leaders of Influence. Recipients are selected based on their significant achievements and contributions to the community.
Sayed and Shamus Sayed, the father-son duo who own IU, made the list for their extensive philanthropic efforts, including helping to end homelessness by working with People Assisting the Homeless (PATH), mentoring youth in entrepreneurship and careers through Junior Achievement of San Diego, donating money to food banks and Ronald McDonald House charities and offering free language services to Ukrainians during the attack on their country. They also created a company policy that allows all employees to take paid time off each year to volunteer for causes of their choice.
IU is a leading provider of translation and interpreting services with offices in four countries and over 10,000 independent linguists. It was included in the Nimdzi 100 2021 list, which ranks the world’s largest language service providers (LSPs).
