Content Marketing Strategy for Page #1 Google Ranking

Content marketing is when your business creates and promotes online content that addresses the concerns and questions of your audience. It can include blogging, email campaigns and social media posts.

Search engine optimization is a key part of content marketing. Includes keyword research, on-page SEO best practices, and content audits.

1. Keyword research

Whether you’re a business owner looking to rank for e-commerce keywords or local service terms (like “lawn care”), a solid content marketing strategy is essential. Unlike traditional advertising methods, SEO is 62% cheaper and generates 3x more leads.

But to get those leads, you need to understand your audience and target keywords that align with their search intent. Your goal is to create relevant, valuable content that showcases your expertise, positions you as an authority, and establishes trust. This is known as EAT, or expertise, authority, and trustworthiness.

To find the right keywords for your business, start with a keyword research tool and look for the term your customers are using to enter their search. Then look at the search suggestions and PAA (People Also Ask) results to identify other keywords that might be relevant. You can then create a list of related keywords and organize them into content topics that help solve your buyer personas.

2. On-page optimization

A key component of a content marketing strategy is to ensure that your website and its pages are properly optimized. This includes checking that the keywords are included in the page content and match the user’s search intent.

Keyword research should be done before creating your site content, so you know which terms to include. Also, be sure to use LSI or related keywords and variations. This will help search engines understand your content better and rank it higher.

It’s also important to incorporate your target keywords into your page content and headings (H1 and H2). This will tell the search engines that this page is related to your target keyword and will rank better.

3. Link Building

No matter what your content marketing strategy looks like, it shouldn’t leave out link building. It’s a key element that can increase the “authority” of your pages and ultimately help them rank better in the SERPs.

To build a strong link profile, you will need to focus on earning editorial links. These are unsolicited or paid links, but are earned through consistently producing high-quality content.

Conducting thorough research on important industry concepts that your peers need to know is one of the best ways to earn editorial links. And writing organized, readable reports of your findings is another.

Monitoring your competitors’ backlink profiles is also essential for effective content marketing. This can help you identify opportunities to reach out to bloggers and website owners to request a link. Using a tool like Ahrefs’ Site Explorer can help you do this in a timely manner.

4. Content creation

The content creation process is one of the most important aspects of a well-rounded SEO strategy. This includes researching your audience to understand their interests and needs, as well as the phrases they use in their search queries. This helps you create unique and compelling content that attracts new visitors to your website and keeps them coming back.

The next step is to find topics that are trending in your industry or with your audience. This can be done using a tool like Buzzsumo or simply by observing the topics and questions your audience is asking on social media or in email conversations.

Once you have a theme in mind, it’s time to start creating. This can include anything from written blog posts to videos, infographics or even quizzes. The most important thing is that the content reflects your brand and is valuable to your audience. This is what will make them share it with their friends and ultimately drive organic traffic to your site.
