5 WWE Media Predictions After Joining UFC
Earlier this year, World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) was sold to the company that runs the UFC. The merger will create a $21.4 billion sports entertainment company led by Endeavor Group Holdings Inc.
The partnership is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for the companies, said Endeavor CEO Ari Emanuel. He and his team believe that combining WWE with the UFC will create “pure IP ownership” that can take advantage of cross-promotion opportunities.
1. Conor McGregor
Conor McGregor is one of the most famous and successful mixed martial artists in the world. After holding the UFC title in two weight classes, he is known for his trash talk and brutal fighting techniques.
The Irishman has had a turbulent career in the UFC, but has been able to turn his fortunes around. He is currently set to face Michael Chandler later this year, along with a possible rematch with Dustin Poirier.
The UFC is rumored to be in talks with Endeavor about a merger, and McGregor has spoken out in support of the deal. He also posted a joke about how he holds both positions on his Twitter page.
2. The bearer
The Undertaker has been a legend in the wrestling world for three decades, terrorizing opponents and creating nightmares for young fans. He is set to retire from the sport at Survivor Series in 2020.
He will be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame by Vince McMahon, who will give him a hard time honoring his former mentor and boss.
In fact, The Undertaker has crossed paths with Vince on air many times before. They even had a brief match back in the day in WCW, although Mark Callaway was never interested in betraying the man who gave him his WWE job.
When a reporter asked Alex Pereira about WWE joining Endeavor, the Brazilian fighter made an interesting prediction for Saturday night’s UFC 287 fight. He said that after defeating Israel Adesanya in back-to-back fights, Adesanya will have no choice but to join the WWE.
3. The mountain
A merger between WWE and the parent company that runs the Ultimate Fighting Championship would create a $21.4 billion sports entertainment company. It will be led by Endeavor CEO Ari Emanuel and CEO Vince McMahon.
The deal will close in the second half of 2023. It is expected to be backed by the telecommunications company Comcast and the Saudi Public Investment Fund.
It would also end decades of family ownership. The McMahon family has owned and operated the WWE since the mid-20th century.
4. Controversial vs. Mountain
The Undertaker’s run at WrestleMania is a legendary moment in wrestling history. He walks slowly, carrying a hook bearing Jared Cannonier’s name.
In UFC 276 on Saturday, Israel Adesanya recreated the impressive move by slowly walking into the octagon and using The Undertaker’s music. Adesanya defends his UFC middleweight title against Anthony Smith.
The Undertaker and The Rock are two of the most popular WWE stars in the world. A match between them at WrestleMania would be a huge surprise for both sides.
5. Triple H
In an announcement made Monday, UFC parent company Endeavor will buy WWE and merge them together. This will create a new company with an enterprise value of $21.4 billion.
This is a huge deal for the world of sports and entertainment. A deal between two major fighting sports companies could change the landscape of the industry forever.
As it stands now, UFC and WWE are the two most popular sports brands in the world. They are both broadcasters and promoters of live events.
It will be interesting to see how the two companies come together and what this will bring to the business and fans. The combination can lead to increased cross-fertilization between the two products.
